Our medical partner WeightSimple runs the virtual side of your care. Its obesity medicine physicians, registered dietitians, and psychologist work alongside your SmartSleeveMD surgeon on both sides of your procedure.
Getting you ready
- Medical optimization. Obesity medicine physicians review your health, manage conditions like diabetes or blood pressure, and adjust medication where clinically indicated.
- Nutrition preparation. A registered dietitian builds your custom meal plan and your pre-procedure diet.
- Behavioural readiness. A registered psychologist helps you prepare for how eating and routines will change.
- Surgical planning. Your surgeon reviews everything WeightSimple has gathered before confirming your procedure.
Keeping you on track
- Remote patient monitoring. Connected devices share your progress with your care team between visits, so changes are noticed early.
- Dietitian follow-up. Guidance through every diet stage, then meal plans for the long term.
- Behavioural support. Ongoing psychologist support for habits, triggers, and emotional eating, with psychiatry available if needed.

Days, not weeks.
Your procedure takes place at our partner facility, Clinic 360 in Toronto. Most patients go home the same day with a companion. Some stay overnight for monitoring.
Most ESG patients are back to desk work. Mild nausea or discomfort is expected and managed with medication.
Your dietitian guides you from liquids to soft foods to regular meals, one stage at a time.
Regular follow-ups, nutrition coaching, and medication review if clinically indicated.
Surgical procedures (LSG, RYGB, SADI) involve a longer recovery. Your surgeon will walk you through the plan for your procedure. Each procedure page shows its own recovery.
In the weeks before your procedure
Your care team will give you a written plan. It typically covers:
Medical workup
Bloodwork and any testing your physician orders, a review of your current medications, and a check of conditions such as sleep apnea, reflux, or diabetes.
Your pre-procedure diet
Your dietitian sets out what to eat in the lead-up to your procedure and why. Follow the plan you're given, since it's specific to your procedure and health.
Readiness and support at home
A behavioural health consultation, a talk about the first two weeks, and a plan for who drives you home and checks on you on procedure day.
Travelling from outside the GTA
Procedures take place at Clinic 360 in Toronto's Leaside neighbourhood, and Clinic 360 can suggest nearby hotels. Your coordinator will tell you how long to stay close by after your procedure. Follow-up then continues virtually or at our Brampton or Mississauga clinics.
