Intragastric Balloon (Gastric Balloon)

What Is an Intragastric Balloon (Gastric Balloon)?
A gastric balloon procedure is a temporary, non-surgical weight loss option for people who prefer a less invasive approach or those who may have contraindications for other weightloss procedures. During the procedure, a soft silicone balloon is placed in the stomach using an endoscope and gently filled with saline to promote fullness and reduce food intake.
The intragastric balloon typically deflates and passes by design after about 6 months and will need to be replaced. Long-term success is dependent on lifestyle and food intake habits before and after the procedure. Our clinic will help ensure you have a smooth journey and get the most benefit from your procedures.
