One weight loss center, every option
SmartSleeveMD brings six endoscopic and surgical procedures together under one roof, and works with our medical partner WeightSimple for people who would rather start with medical care. Because every route is available, the recommendation you get is based on what suits you, not on the one procedure a clinic happens to offer.
If a less invasive option, a less expensive one, or no procedure at all suits you better, we'll tell you.
Three ways in
Medical care through WeightSimple
If you're below the usual BMI range for a procedure, prefer to try medication first, or simply aren't ready, WeightSimple offers doctor-led weight care for eligible patients. It's fully virtual:
- Obesity medicine physicians who assess you and build your plan
- GLP-1 and GIP medications, when clinically appropriate
- A registered dietitian and a registered psychologist
If you decide on a procedure later, the same care team can continue with you.
Endoscopic procedures
Performed through the mouth, with no external incisions: the intragastric balloon, a temporary first step; endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), for people who prefer to avoid surgery; and transoral outlet reduction (TORe), for weight regain after a gastric bypass.
Surgical procedures
Keyhole surgery, generally discussed from a BMI of 30: sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and SADI. All three are permanent.
Typical total body weight loss ranges from 5 to 7% with the balloon to 35 to 45% with SADI.* Compare all six side by side
*Published literature, not SmartSleeveMD outcomes data. Individual results vary.
From consultation to long-term support
- Consultation. Free, by video or in person at our Brampton or Mississauga clinic. A surgeon reviews your candidacy, and you leave with written information and the time you need to decide.
- Preparation. WeightSimple physicians optimize your health and any medication, while a dietitian and psychologist prepare you for the change.
- Procedure day. At Clinic 360, a private surgical facility in Toronto's Leaside neighbourhood, with your SmartSleeveMD surgeon and Clinic 360's anesthesia and nursing teams.
- Two years of follow-up and aftercare. Surgeon follow-ups, remote patient monitoring, dietitian support, and behavioural support.
- Years 3 to 5+. Medical, nutrition, and behavioural support rather than scheduled visits, with a direct path back to your surgeon when needed.
Steps 4 and 5 are included in every procedure price. See the full care journey
